A Message to Die For

Acts 2 marks the beginning of the age of the Holy Spirit. After Pentecost, the Holy Spirit was poured out upon all believers.

In Acts 2:42, it says:

"And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers."

The word "fellowship" (koinonia) here does not simply refer to a social gathering or friendly association. It describes a new way of life that emerged as a result of the Holy Spirit's presence among believers.

The pattern we see in Acts 2 is:

The Holy Spirit comes → the gospel is proclaimed → people repent and believe → a koinonia community is formed.

Therefore, the church is called to be a koinonia community—a community that learns together, worships together, shares meals together, prays together, gives generously, and experiences the work of God together.

Koinonia is more than gathering in the same place; it is sharing life together in Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit.

In kingdom work, presence is more important than the actual message.

In kingdom work, movement is of paramount importance.
